Whew! I just finished an intense 2 days of theatre and have yet to fully recover. Most of you know me as a model, but I have a degree in theatre and have been really missing being on stage lately. Of course, life has a way of getting in the way of all day, month long rehearsals, so I was really lucky to find the Grex Group Theatre‘s Insomniacs 24-hour playfestival. I got to experience the fun, creativity, and frenetic energy of putting on a full play all within a 24 hour period. It was also a lot more professional than the 24-hour theatre we tried to do in college.
I met with playwright Jeff Stolzer, director Molly Rose Clifford, and fellow actress Ashley Hevey on Friday night. By midnight Jeff had written a play, and by 9pm Saturday Ashley and I were on stage. There were a few hiccups, but I think we did justice to Jeff’s script (which was a hilarious send-up of bad horror movies) and made Molly (who will be a famous director one day, I swear!) proud. Hopefully this is the start of more theatre in my future!
